Light

Tonight I saw the light on the building next to Hackney Downs that I always suspected but never knew was an apartment complex - I never remembered in time to check. This evening, one of those drawn-out London 'summertime' evenings, there was an hour's worth or so of twilight rays which struck the top of this building as though it were on the edge of a cliff. The whole scene was drenched in delicious heightened atmosphere, and I used half a roll of film on it, in old terms. The shame of drawing attention to myself was cancelled by the two wines I'd drunk before boarding the train; and a well-timed message came through as I put away my camera, prompting me to indulge in a quick half and a chat at the local before making my way to the finishing line for dinner.
